Bangsar’s new hideout for Nyonya cuisine offers a beautiful refuge for teatime in Telawi, serving laksa that does hearty, spice-heated justice to Jonker traditions and cendol that cools the spirit. Dinner offerings are more elaborate: Ayam belimbing, udang gulung and more.

With its bare-bones name and basic set-up, Bukit Jalil's under-the-radar Italian Pizza focuses purely on the pie - from the Margherita di Bufala with buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil to the  Tartufata with mushrooms, rocket leaves and truffle oil, these fuss-free pizzas hit the spot for comforting flavours and textures.

Fans of honest, handmade pastas, bookmark Bukit Jalil’s new Et Cetera, soft-launching 28 November.

Et Cetera marks the rebirth of Restart by Slo, relocating here from Kota Damansara. Its revamped menu will start with a selection of fresh pappardelle and other favourites, before tackling ravioli and risotto next month.

The cafe was putting up its final touches when we stopped by; it looks to be a lovely space for a meal with coffee, a five-minute walk from Parkson in Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
