Ordering Out in Cyberjaya: Saba Restaurant

No need to sabar for Saba: This Middle Eastern restaurant continues to run deliveries in Cyberjaya this month, with a limited menu that nonetheless supplies our fix of rice and barbecue dishes.

Portions prove princely - even a single serving could satisfy two light eaters. The Yemen-style lamb mandi is packed so tight, its contents nearly spill out when you open the container. The meat is smoky and fall-off-the-bone tender, well-balanced with a spicy-sour sauce (RM28.78).

The Mixed BBQ is more a feast than a mere sampler (RM45.58) - chicken kebab, lamb kebab, chicken shish taouk and beef tikka, all conveying a distinctive Mideast spice mix seeped into the marinade. The chicken is our favourite for its easy-eating virtues, while the beef is on the chewy side and the lamb has a slight sourish yogurt aftertaste. Sides include a salad, fries and flatbread that can be heated up for ideal enjoyment. Saba delivers out of Persiaran Multimedia in Cyberjaya.

Burger & Taco, Cyberjaya

Burger & Taco serves precisely what its name promises.

For burger buffs, start with The B&T Original, bolstered by a 150-gram Australian beef patty with tomatoes, cheddar and lime aioli (RM14.90). The patty is American diner-style - coarsely textured, with a crisp bite that yields to a tender chew. This is one saucy burger; the lime aioli adds a lot of moisture to the ensemble, with the uplift of a citrus aftertaste to helps balance out the burger.

If you want to double the decadence, order The Fat Heifer, the flagship burger that's a double cheeseburger version of The B&T Original. Grilled chicken and fried chicken burgers are also available.

Burger & Taco's founders had a hard time finding satisfactory tacos in the Klang Valley, which explains the second half of their culinary equation. The Double Supreme Chicken Soft Taco is plumply packed with chicken, egg, lettuce, tomatoes and a mayo-based 'special fry sauce' - similar to Shack/Crack sauces - that engulfs the ensemble in a soft wheat tortilla, for mouthfuls that you can sink your teeth totally into (RM16.90).

Burger & Taco
E2-04-3A, Tamarind Square, Persiaran Multimedia, 63000 Cyberjaya. Open Tues-Fri, 12pm-3pm, 6pm-9pm; Sat-Sun, 12pm-9pm. Tel: 012-776-0154

Alcea Coffee, Cyberjaya

Named for the alcea flower, beloved by the wife of Alcea Coffee's co-founder, this is one of Cyberjaya's top stops for thoughtfully brewed coffee.

Sip on a Ethiopian Ayehu pour-over, relying on naturally processed beans from a sustainability-practising farm, beautifully light and pleasant, with official tasting notes of strawberry, rose and chestnuts (RM20). Alcea's filter coffee prices range from RM15 (Ijen Plateau, Indonesia) to RM58 (Boquete, Panama); if you're fortunate, the baristas might have a small sampler glass at hand for you.

Prefer espresso-based coffee? Try the creamy-smooth, noticeably nutty flat white, a single-origin Brazilian from the Fazenda de Lagoa plantation that's meant to convey dark chocolate dynamics (RM12).

Customers can't live on coffee alone - banish hunger with the mutton curry fettuccine, featuring meat and pasta that both prove tender, with the fettuccine richly absorbing the curry's flavours (RM18).

Yzen Frozen Yogurt: New Waffles & Yogurt Drink

Frozen yogurt specialist Yzen has unveiled two new temptations to draw dessert devotees to its glasshouse-like haven: Waffles blanketed with everything from Belgian chocolate to Lotus Biscoff caramelised biscuit sauce, washed down with ultra-reviving yogurt beverages.

Yzen's fans have long loved this brand for its cool yogurt, but they can now relish hot fare too, in the form of waffles with a wide range of premium toppings, prepared fresh to order, served folded like a waffle cake. Yzen's waffles prove pleasurably crisp and firm, capable of holding its toppings without turning soggy or falling apart - perfect for a takeaway treat.

At RM5.90, Yzen's waffle is a wallet-friendly indulgence, complete with two toppings of your choice that'll blanket half the waffle. Our pairings of toppings included a double dose of Belgian dark chocolate with Lotus Biscoff caramelised biscuit sauce, as well as Belgian milk chocolate with strawberry puree, both delectably decadent delights.

The new original yogurt beverage is blended with the same base for the froyo, a longtime family recipe (the difference is that the drink excludes the froyo's purple sweet potato). A serving of this is like having the froyo equivalent of a frosty milkshake, a rejuvenating antidote for our tropical heat at only RM6.90. Extra ingredients, like mango, can be mixed in at RM1.40 each, complete with cute paper straws to make this a charming cooler.

One more update to note: Yzen has upsized its mini froyo, going from 80 grams to 120 grams - a 50 percent increase, with one topping of your choice - still costing just RM7.90.

For bargain-hunters, the best time to visit Yzen might be on Tuesdays, for a 23% discount on the regular froyo cup (RM10.70 instead of RM13.90), large froyo cup (RM13.80 instead of RM17.90), and the Lay-zen parfait (RM13 instead of RM16.90; frozen yogurt with two fruits, Oreo crumbs, brown sugar jelly, Lotus Biscoff cookie crumbs, and one sauce of choice).

Yzen's frozen yogurt is made fresh, and the brand only uses halal ingredients. Yzen now operates exclusively in Cyberjaya's Tamarind Square.

Many thanks to Yzen Frozen Yogurt for having us back.
