The story of Summation unfolds this Saturday in Seri Kembangan, bringing together a beautiful new cafe with a personalised notebook and stationery store.
If you’re nuts about nutmeg, you’ll be happy to hear that Summation’s Penang-born founders Cynn and Ying have woven their island's beloved buah pala into their signature sweet treats and beverages.
The Nutmeg Banana Chocolat is a Binoche-worthy petit gateau - luscious caramelised banana nutmeg compote with chocolate mousse, sponge and glacé, plus nutmeg crisp for crunch. Some caneles also come infused with nutmeg for unmistakably spiced aromatics, baked by The Salted Chef, best paired with a nutmeg soda.
This space is a sanctuary for the soul, with thoughtful touches. Ying is a plant enthusiast - she cultivates a collection of palms and perennials by the window, for graceful garden greens amid warm wood tones.
Summation is the cafe offshoot of Summorie, which makes customisable notebooks with heaps of heart (Cynn's parents formerly ran an old-school stationery shop in Penang). It relies on high-quality material, like paper from environmentally sustainable sources.
Summation will open September 17, operating Monday to Saturday.
