Delectably devoted to durians: Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur has drummed up a new dining concept that's fit for the King of Fruits, regally dedicated to serving fresh durians as well as delightful durian desserts that charmingly span cheesecakes to crepes, tarts to tiramisu. If durians are the food of your desire, this is the place to rekindle your love affair with a modern spark of excitement.
Corus Hotel recently unveiled its urban sanctuary for durians in the heart of KL with a permanent durian dining room officiated by Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Yang Berhormat Tuan Muhammad Bakhtiar Bin Wan Chik. The minister hailed Corus Hotel for an exemplary initiative to promote premium durian varieties from domestic plantations and support 'durian tourism.'
While some hotels have 'No Durians Allowed' warnings, Corus Hotel takes a daringly, distinctively and discerningly different approach with The Durian Room, its comfortable new space that houses fresh, fragrant and fleshy servings of in-demand Musang King, D24 and XO durians.
Along with The Durian Room, Corus Hotel has also launched a Durian Dessert Platter that's served specifically at the hotel's Dondang Sayang Coffee House.
Together, The Durian Room and the Durian Dessert Platter form the cornerstones of Durian365@Corus - available 365 days a year for anyone dining in or staying at Corus Hotel.
At The Durian Room, located at Corus Hotel's lobby, customers can feast on indulgently creamy durians daily with a free flow of Pu'er tea or mineral water, 12pm-1030pm.
For the Durian Tasting Platter, recipes were curated in collaboration with local durian specialists Durian BB - the selection of possibilities for the platter might include the Durian King (with seasonal durian pulp blended with cheesecake, handcrafted to resemble the King of Fruits), Durian Matcha Cake Rolls (with pure, pleasurable puree), San Sebastian Burnt Durian Cheesecakes (a durian reinterpretation of KL's trendiest dessert), Signature Durian Mousse Cake (with mousse made fresh everyday), Rabbit Coconut Durian Mousse (the cutest temptation), Durian Creme Brulee (aromatically caramelised), Durian Crepes (fluffy buttermilk pancakes with a dusting of powdered sugar), Durian Tarts With Meringue, Durian Macarons, Durian Tiramisu or others.
The irresistibly luscious treats of the Durian Tasting Platter are available 12pm-9pm daily at Dondang Sayang Coffee House; a platter with coffee or tea clocks in at RM78 nett for two persons.
After all that durian, you might be tempted to linger on here - with that in mind, Corus Hotel currently offers a room promotion of RM278 nett for a staycation plus the Durian Dessert Platter and breakfast for two.
