Fans of bright, beautiful cafes have a new reason to travel to Putrajaya: Inara, a family-owned space that opened this year, lives up to its name, Arabic for illuminating, an apt description for the natural sunlight that flows through the wide windows here.

Plenty of pleasures are available at Inara, from Laksa Johor to cinnamon rolls; the ideal introduction is the signature Tauhu Anora (RM7 for two pieces), basically bergedil stuffed with carrot and corn, crisply wrapped in dried tofu skin, served with a sweet-spicy sauce comprising cili padi. Anora is the name of the family's mom, who inherited this recipe from her own mother in the 1990s; they formerly sold this speciality in Taman Melawati, notably at Ramadan bazaars. Wash it down with an Ice Blended Hazelnut Chocolate drink (RM11.50).
