Debuting this week in Damansara Heights, Pepper Bakery & Bistro spices up the neighbourhood with colour, cheer and cross-cultural culinary charm.

Tear into the flagship Danish Loaf, flaky and fluffy, warmly paired with fermented chilli butter that might err slightly too sweet.

The scrumptious star for bread buffs is the Tomato Dabu Dabu sourdough toast, topped with Indonesian-inspired sambal matah, mercifully more mellow than fiery, rich and ripe with ricotta and juicy vine tomatoes - one of our favourite open sandwiches of 2024.

Bringing together inspirations from Milan and Mexico City, the Osso Bucco Taco is an irresistible hard-shell indulgence, thick and tender with braised oxtail, pico de gallo, avocado, jalapeƱo cream and cheese.

For fun theatrics at the table, try the Upside-down Smashed Avocado, a French butter croissant layered with avo, arugula and poached egg, heaped with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, shaved while serving.

Two top treats pay tribute to Pepper’s namesake: The Red Pepper Hummus Bowl, a chickpea champion showered with quinoa, avo, pineapple and tomatoes, and the Pepper Pesto, a pleasurable pasta in red pepper pesto sauce, crowned with creamy burrata.

Pepper’s pavlova is unique, with crisp meringue cushioned with chia seeds, lychee, raspberry coulis and rose cremeux, breathing creative life into a classic.

The Coconut Latte with coconut milk is a brat-summer smash, worth falling out of a coconut tree for, unburdened by what has been, while the Beetroot Latte will keep us dancing in the Pink Pony Club.
