Nan’s Dee-lites’ custard butter cookies are the perfect family recipe, rooted in the brand founder's own Nan (Grandmother).
Nan first began baking these cookies for pleasure before turning them into a festive treat for loved ones. She initially gifted the cookies to family and friends for Chinese New Year, then to her Muslim neighbour in Gombak, which spurred her to bake them for Aidilfitri as well.
Now, Nan’s granddaughter has inherited a recipe perfected through the decades - these butter cookies are indulgently melt-in-the-mouth, with a crumble so tender, a child could crush the cookie in their fist.
The cookies are as rich and beautifully buttery as we could hope for, evenly baked with a bright, fruity pop in the centre. We happily devoured half of our batch in an hour and ordered more (RM30 per tub).
