Bijou @ Mont Kiara

Bijou is French for "jewel" _ an apt name for Mont Kiara's gem of a restaurant.

A soothingly serene setting for a long, leisurely meal.

Fennel soup. A hearty portion; ideal for a cold, rainy evening.

Aged beef salad with grapefruit, poached onion fritters and black truffle emulsion. Lots of tender beef slices under the veggies, but the highlight was the sweet, luscious onion fritters.

Shrimp and chicken ravioli with baby spinach, scallion and aged ginger vinaigrette. This tasted kinda like wonton, which wasn't exactly what we wanted. Still, it was well prepared.

Linguine with duck confit, Asian greens, shitake and soy honey glaze. On the other hand, this tasted like wonton noodles! Tasty enough though.

Vallformosa La Vina Tinto 2007. Value for money, went well with the food.
