Japan’s Warabimochi Kamakura has made its Malaysian debut, now whipping up warabimochi desserts and drinks at APW Bangsar.

This new wagashi pop-up will run for two months, a prelude to Warabimochi Kamakura’s stores set to launch in Pavilion KL and Mid Valley next month.

Kamakura’s warabimochi is extraordinarily enjoyable, delicately supple and silken in servings of two, five or ten-piece portions, as well as layered in bracken-bonanza beverages like the Tenku no Hojicha.

Every element is convincingly crafted, from the kuromitsu to kinako, conveying the pure depth of Okinawan brown sugar and the rich fullness of long-roasted soybean flour.

Fun fact: Warabimochi Kamakura has more than 60 stores worldwide, spanning its birth country of Japan to Hong Kong, Singapore to South Korea, North America to Australia.
