Grumpy Bagels will soon unveil its new space in Sentul Depot, a heritage hall reborn as a brick-and-beam bagel haven, evoking a honey-oak farmhouse with fairytale larders.

With windows looking to lush views outside this nearly 4,000-square-foot former electrical workshop for railway engineers, Grumpy Bagels 1905 offers a cottage-inspired storybook setting for sunlit socials of shroom bagels, cheesesteak bagels, and playful bagel takes on French toast.

Founders Claire and Ivan are thoughtful caretakers of this space, meticulously put together in a labour of love where even the textures of the walls matter, with lived-in touches like vintage signs in the style of a general store and salvaged lights stumbled on in antique shops.

Filled with heart and hope, Grumpy Bagels 1905 will publicly launch Sunday, 1 February, introducing fresh temptations such as scallion cream cheese bagels, plus new warm meals like Tuscan roast chicken and pulled duck pasta.
