From Harlem-inspired waffles with fried chicken to Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, burgers served sizzling on a skillet with a medley of melted cheese to ice-cold milkshakes, KGB Diner brings together American comfort-food nostalgia with a contemporary sense of cool.
Now soft-launched in Tropicana Gardens Mall, this is a playful new concept by KGB, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year as one of Malaysia's enduring homegrown makers of burgers with imaginative flair.
If you love retro U.S. diner decors that hark back to the 1950s, you'll enjoy exploring KGB Diner, with its blue-and-white chequered floors and neon-lit marquee signs.
KGB Diner is KGB's most distinctive destination, complementing its cheerful space with a wider menu, built on the brand's flagship crust-seared or grilled Angus beef patties. This is a full-service restaurant where customers can savour much more to KGB beyond burgers.
Meals are surprisingly wallet-friendly, with most meals here clocking in around RM20 and below - the Philly Cheesesteak is a brilliant bargain at RM14.90!
KGB has consistently cultivated a reputation as a Muslim-friendly purveyor, relying on halal-certified ingredients - in a testament to its commitment, the brand is working to secure official halal certification soon.
Putting a scrumptious spin on chicken with waffles, KGB Diner's Harlem Waffles (RM17.90) reinvents the classic with house-crafted croffles instead of conventional waffles, crisp and firm to sandwich the chicken and sauces confidently.
For steamy theatrics at the table, try the Skillet Cheese (RM22.90) - a burger at its most sinfully decadent, with a grilled beef patty, caramelised onions and extra-toasted bun, laid on a hot plate that's lusciously molten with mozzarella, cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
The Spiked Pastrami (RM20.90) embodies KGB's efforts to evolve in exciting ways - grilled beef blanketed with house-cured pastrami for a double whammy of carnivorous kicks, looking innocently like a regular diner burger with fried onions, pickles, BBQ sauce, lettuce and tomatoes. This is the one to check out if you crave a prime helping of meat in your burgers.
Easing out on carbs? The KGB Burger Salad (RM17.80) might not boast a bun but it's still brimming with satisfaction; the signature Angus beef patty is the centre of attention with a mixed salad, chicken crisps, onions and diner sauce. Caesar chicken salads are also available.
Many KGB staples are offered at KGB Diner too, so you can your fix of Southwestern Egg Rolls (RM14.90), sensational for sharing, loaded plumply with chicken, black beans, cheddar, chipotle and corn.
And of course, chicken wings are also beloved at every KGB venue. The Sizzling Buldak Wings (RM22.80) are crunchily glazed in spicy Korean soy for a hit of umami-fuelled fieriness, soothed by the melted triple-cheese threat of mozzarella, cheddar and Parmesan. Great for the young at heart and kids of all generations.
The Oreo Milkshake (RM14.90) may bring back childhood milkshake memories, made with cookie ice cream. For contemporary caffeine enthusiasts, expect expertly brewed beverages like the Flat White (RM12.90) with pleasantly nutty undertones.
With KGB Diner's launch comes KGB's first-ever wave of merch - debuting this month are KGB's very own eco-friendly tote bags, enamel pins, T-shirts and stickers, cute and charming!
