Fans of roast duck might like to flock to Fai Koh, a new stall in Puchong that's reputedly run by a Hong Kong-born-and-trained chef with nearly four decades of professional experience in preparing fresh, flavoursome fowl.
Duck done deliciously: Gorgeous from every angle, Fai Koh's top temptation hits the spot for meat that satisfies in terms of both taste and texture. While every roast duck enthusiast has a personal favourite place in the Klang Valley, it wouldn't be surprising to see people in this part of Puchong swearing by Fai Koh. Half a duck costs RM30, while a whole duck is RM58.
Roast pork, chicken and char siu are also available; the siu yok is competent and the chicken is smooth, but the star on this platter is the char siu, beautifully balanced in its sweetly mellow flavour, with lovely levels of caramelisation and melt-in-the-mouth succulence.
It's clear that Fai Koh takes pride in these efforts; everything on the table tastes honourably executed, from the rice to the soup, making for a lunch that seems worth returning for.
