Serving authentic Malaysian cuisine with global recognition, Hometown Hainan Coffee has earned international acclaim at the World Top Gourmet Awards, showcasing local flavours for Visit Malaysia 2026.

At the World Top Gourmet Awards 2025, held in Guangzhou in November, Hometown Hainan Coffee was honoured with two distinctions: The Top Authentic Casual Dining Award and Top 10 Outstanding F&B Brands Award.

This is major recognition for the Malaysian-born brand: Judges for the awards visited multiple locations of Hometown Hainan Coffee, observing how recipes are prepared from scratch with in-house ingredients, consistent throughout the brand's 25 branches.

From Hainan Mee that has sold more than a million plates to Hainan Chicken Rice and Hainan Chicken Chop, Hainan Egg Toast to Hainan Kopi and Iced Hainan Teh, Hometown Hainan Coffee is committed to the original taste of each recipe, paired with fast, friendly service for meals that keep customers coming back.

Hometown Hainan Coffee began as a family brand in 2008 to modernise classic coffee house culture. The Koh family's grandfather formerly ran a kopitiam in KL's Central Market, grounding them in generations of heritage while shaping their contemporary approach today.

If you're new to Hometown Hainan Coffee, start with the million-selling Hainan Mee, the Koh family's beloved recipe handed down through three generations.

These nostalgic noodles surface in a premium blend of rich abalone sauce and slow-simmered old hen's broth, relatively rare and costly ingredients that result in soul-warming umami, from the first strand of the mee to the final slurp of the broth.

Hainan Chicken Rice is a consistent bestseller: The poached boneless chicken is full-bodied with a luscious chew, complete with jasmine rice that's carefully steamed for an even texture, ensuring better fragrance and flavour, perfect with chicken broth-laced ginger and chilli sauce blended with two types of chillies.

Hainan Chicken Chop is a heritage recipe by a chef previously in the service of the Pahang Royal Family. The chicken is coated in a distinctive breading of finely crumbled crackers, conveying a convincing crackle and crunch, finished with the familiar tomato-based sauce that brings tangy sweetness while keeping the chicken moist and tender.

Craving koey teow? Hometown Hainan Coffee has two treats to try.

Fried Koay Teow is smoky with extra depth from a touch of abalone sauce infused into the soy, more boldly aromatic than average with a rounder savouriness.

Beef Koay Teow with Creamy Egg Sauce is blanketed with beautifully silky sauce made with a generous handful of eggs, loaded with temptingly tender beef.

Hainan Egg Toast is a childhood favourite, fried with egg batter for fabulous caramelisation, still soft and fluffy inside. Have it with butter and house-made kaya, crafted with duck and chicken eggs, slow-cooked fresh with no preservatives - the toast's golden colour makes this popular for the Lunar New Year!

Hainan Kopi relies on traditional Hainanese craftsmanship: Coffee beans are roasted with margarine, sugar, sesame and salt to draw out the deliciousness of the brew. The result is velvet-smooth with a robust potency of flavour.

Iced Hainan Teh features a blend of two local tea leaves in a carefully calibrated ratio, lightly creamy and sleek for refreshment without heaviness.
