The street hosted its opening ceremony this month with a Bluefin Tuna Cutting Ceremony in collaboration with partner restaurants. The event - the second this year by this group of restaurants - was led by acclaimed chef Otsuka Kenji with chefs from partner establishments.
The group's founders lifted a cloth to unveil the star of the event, a fresh Bluefin Tuna weighing over 90 kilograms, specially flown in from Japan. The ceremony drew numerous guests and spectators who were thrilled by the skilled slicing as well as a heart-pounding Japanese drum performance on Avenue K's second floor.
Guests enjoyed a selection of exquisite dishes featuring Bluefin Tuna, savouring its delicate texture and decadent flavour.
The Bluefin Tuna Cutting Ceremony will continue to be held monthly at partner restaurants. The remaining tuna will be distributed to partner restaurants for sale, including Sushi Yoshi (LaLaport BBCC), Yakiniku Tenshin (Avenue K), Tengyu Omakase (Avenue K), Shabu Fuku (Avenue K), as well as Tsukiji Sushi (Plaza Arkadia), Tsukiji Sushi (TTDI), and Tsukiji Sushi by Ten Omakase (Empire Shopping Gallery).
