Engka Portobello

Changkat Bkt Bintang's newest hotspot is obsessed with mushrooms, offering numerous dishes devoted to them. Service is warm; it's obvious that the people behind this place have put lots of thought and care into everything.

Luckily, there's tons of booze for anyone who isn't into mushrooms.

Serrano ham with melon, mushrooms, rocket leaves, bacon and shallots. This would have worked better with parma ham, but we still enjoyed it.

Portobello mushroom stuffed with pork belly and onion relish. If the description sounds appealing to you, then you'll like this. One thing is clear: they're not stingy with servings.

Pork knuckle with blue cheese, baked apples, almond flakes, bacon and harvest fruit gravy. A lot more ingredients on this platter compared to pork knuckles elsewhere. It's a satisfying spread, though the skin could have been crispier.

Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon, Champagne cocktail and Hot Toddy cocktail (Brandy, honey and hot water).

Engka Portobello,
Changkat Bukit Bintang.
