DSC09066.jpgIf butter is your jam, spread the luscious love at Sentul’s Open Table, the friendly new sister cafe of APW Bangsar’s PULP.

Set amid the airy arenas of Pickle Depot, Open Table smashes a five-way selection of flavoured butters (chicken crackling, chilli garlic, kombu, truffle and forest berries), smooth and subtle, scrumptious with house-baked focaccia.

Rosti with avocado and egg promises crunchy-creamy courtside comfort, with hojicha lemonades and oat matcha lattes to refuel after a dink duel.

Awesome Wang, Petaling Jaya

Awesome Wang is SS2’s friendly new modern noodle bar, bringing together slurps and sips.

House-made Teochew-inspired noodles, thick and tender, come swimming in slow-simmered smoky dashi broth, bolstered with beef bacon for depth, buoyed by sliced Black Angus beef.

Other choices to try include dry noodles with a minced blend of beef and beef bacon, wok-tossed and topped with house aromatics, bonito flakes and onsen egg.

Beyond noodles, Awesome Wang does an awesome wagyu beef skewer, perfectly grilled to melting succulence.

The cocktail bar also proves capable: Choose from a checklist to craft your own personal cocktail - super-strong perhaps with four liquors, rich with herbs, spices and tropical fruitiness.

Fun fact: Awesome Wang’s name is meant to be as suggestive as it sounds. It’s also a contemporary, cheeky offshoot of PJ’s Teow Chew Meng restaurant.
