Open only for two hours each evening, from 5pm through 7pm, Fasahet Somaya features the cooking of one woman, Somaya, whose food represents Egyptian homemade fare at its most fulfilling. The menu is limited to a few dishes that change everyday; it's best to head here before opening hours and make a reservation, since the several tables in this small space fill up extremely fast - on some occasions, the kitchen might be out of food by 630pm. Cheap and cheerful sustenance.
