Tiffin Room 17 is Section 17's new stop for Hainanese chicken chop hunters, founded by a friendly husband-and-wife team with corporate catering experience.

The chicken is a crackly classic, complete with house-blended sauce of browned onions and sweet-savoury Worcestershire tang.

Sept is Seventeen Mall’s new cafe-bistro for Japanese comfort fare, by the team behind N.I.C.E. Bistronome, THB Bistronome and Mala Bistronome.

By day, sandos and stir-fried udon bring simple cheer to this bright, buoyant space. Soon after, sushi rolls and rice bowls ease us into the evening’s rhythm.

Savour the thick, tenderly meaty beef hamburg with onsen egg and the flavourful depth of beef jus for a gentle French flourish, plus satiny-custardy unagi chawanmushi for hot, heartwarming satisfaction.

Cyberjaya’s new Day For It distils a Dublin dream into a fresh dawn for a Malaysian husband-and-wife team, returning home after years of working in Ireland.

For a limited time, espressos here harness the El Salvador La Ilusión roasted by Ireland’s 3fe Coffee, bringing punchy-silky notes of red apples and dates to lattes, bridging the past and present of Day For It’s Malik, who previously worked at 3fe. Also currently available is 3fe’s Nicaragua El Limoncillo, recommended for long blacks.

Day For It’s house single-origin is a Brazil Norte Pioneiro by Subang’s Simple Matter Coffee Co, boldly nutty with caramelised chocolatiness.

Also munch on madeleines, home-baked with Malik and Intan’s secret batter recipe, sweetly feathery-fluffy and fragrant.
