Fullhouse @ Yap Kwan Seng

Fullhouse recently launched a central city branch that's even better-looking than their original outlet at Ara Damansara.

Alfresco dining is available here, amid a garden with a fountain on the ground floor and a rooftop balcony upstairs. Both areas are particularly pleasant in the evening.

Some might say the interior is kitschy, but it was calm enough to soothe our frazzled nerves.

A bowl of piping-hot tomato bisque with lemon grass, shredded crab meat and cognac was the best thing for a rainy night.

The shitake mushroom soup with toasted almonds tasted a tad artificial, but was decent enough for less than RM10.

Pan-fried butter fish with passion-berries fruit reduction and sun-dried tomatoes. Not a top-notch fish, but the sweet & salty flavours blended very nicely together.

Grilled chicken thigh with black pepper raisin jus, mashed potatoes and veggies. Tender and tasty enough to recommend for a simple meal.

For those living in Sunway and Subang, note that they've also opened another cafe at Sunway Pyramid. It looks like this empire is expanding rapidly.

Full House,
Jalan Yap Kwan Seng.
