Carousel @ Palace of the Golden Horses

'Tis the season for hotels to have Middle Eastern buffets, catering to the Arab tourists who come here for their summer holidays. At the Palace of the Golden Horses, Carousel's dinners are a decent deal at RM50++ per person.

The selection is limited, but it covers the basics, ranging from tabbouleh (chopped parsley with onions and lemon juice) and warak einab (pickled vine leaves stuffed with rice)...

... to the obligatory grilled lamb (kinda dry and bland) ...

... to thick, savoury meat stews and soups brimming with veggies ...

... to mandi (basmati rice cooked with lamb and spices). Quite aromatic, this.
