F by Buffalo Kitchens

One of Telawi's most pleasant settings, with an amiable service team.

The menu is compact, but there's something for everyone, whether you're a carnivore, pasta addict or vegetarian. The food isn't the best in Bangsar, but it's fairly priced. Portions are moderate _ ideal for light meals.

Crab "2 ways." The soft-shell crab was satisfyingly crisp, chunky and not too oily, but the crab cakes seemed more like mushy potato balls.

Smoked cheese risotto with porcini. Competently prepared, but too mild-tasting to leave a lasting impression (though some might prefer it that way).

Wagyu beef cheeks with Mediterranean taboule. Melt-in-the-mouth meat; the taboule provided a refreshing textural change from the mashed potatoes that typically accompany beef cheeks.

Vanilla cheese terrine. Subtly flavored, not excessively sugary or cheesy; tasted surprisingly healthy for a dessert item.

White chocolate mousse. Soft and chilly_ virtually ice cream.

Love Potion, Cosmopolitan & Peach Mojito cocktails. Could be a tad more potent.

  1. Heard about this through one of my creatives. Buffalo is a cookware brand venture out into the f&b scene. Would love to try the Wagyu Beef Cheek :)

  2. Wow (at Augustdiners' comment)!Though I admit tht the word "buffalo" got me thinkin of tht cookware brand too.

augustdiners: their e-store does seem kinda interesting! everything from pressure cookers to ozone food sterilizers. too bad i can't cook! :D
tng: heheh, collaboration is the key to success? in this case, let's hope it'll be a long and successful partnership! :D

  4. i can see that it's an open kitchen concept. i hope they have a good ventilation system.

  5. eiling: ventilation was good! i think they use special cooking equipment too, to help minimize any problems with the heat...

  6. I wonder what the F stands for...

  7. lfb: food? friends? fun? all of the above? heheh :D

  8. Notty ol' me was actually thinking of... Farts? :P

  9. lfb: hmmmmm ... that begs the question of what channels u've been watching on your pay-per-view hotel room tv :P

  10. Buffalo has a long history spanning for nearly half a century. Equipped with the most advanced technology and highest standard production plant in Asia, our multiply stainless steel cookware business flourished internationally.
