One of Telawi's most pleasant settings, with an amiable service team.
The menu is compact, but there's something for everyone, whether you're a carnivore, pasta addict or vegetarian. The food isn't the best in Bangsar, but it's fairly priced. Portions are moderate _ ideal for light meals.
Crab "2 ways." The soft-shell crab was satisfyingly crisp, chunky and not too oily, but the crab cakes seemed more like mushy potato balls.
Smoked cheese risotto with porcini. Competently prepared, but too mild-tasting to leave a lasting impression (though some might prefer it that way).
Wagyu beef cheeks with Mediterranean taboule. Melt-in-the-mouth meat; the taboule provided a refreshing textural change from the mashed potatoes that typically accompany beef cheeks.
Vanilla cheese terrine. Subtly flavored, not excessively sugary or cheesy; tasted surprisingly healthy for a dessert item.
White chocolate mousse. Soft and chilly_ virtually ice cream.
Love Potion, Cosmopolitan & Peach Mojito cocktails. Could be a tad more potent.

i can see that it's an open kitchen concept. i hope they have a good ventilation system.
ReplyDeleteeiling: ventilation was good! i think they use special cooking equipment too, to help minimize any problems with the heat...
