For now, it's not as popular as Il Divo, the only other restaurant currently open at this location. Still, it's a serene, stately place with solid potential.
Don't expect a replica of Fukuya though. There are subtle similarities in the ambience, but Fukuharu's menu seems less adventurous than Fukuya's so far.
Complimentary chawanmushi. I'm not a big fan of chawanmushi, but this was pretty worthwhile. We enjoyed the silky texture and the generous helpings of chicken, mushrooms and other goodies encased within.
It may be too early to pass judgment on this place; hopefully in a few weeks, it might live up to its big sister's well-earned reputation.
Fukuharu, Fukuya..i'm lost.
ReplyDeleteComplimentary wine?? part of their opening promo or wat?
Haha, the name really reminded me of Fukuya, a restaurant which we love a lot. :) Fukuharu looks nice too, wonder where's terrace in Hock Choon. Will find out later when we're back in KL. :)
ReplyDeleteThxs for the tip! I must go check this place out. Weird, with this econ climate, I would think new restaurants won't be opening but I guess I'm wrong.

ReplyDeletenomad: nopes, the owners were enjoying their own wine-tasting while we were there, so they generously offered us some!
ReplyDeletesugar bean: just opposite the ampwalk mall!
boo: yeah, it's more fraught with risks than ever. but if there's any justice, they'll be richly rewarded for taking those risks!
christina: thanks very much for reading! yeps, i love wine and cocktails. helps me unwind after a long day at the office.
