Elegant Inn @ Menara Hap Seng

This Chinese outlet might not look like an inn, but it's undeniably elegant.

Customers can feast indoors or on an open-air deck overlooking Jln P. Ramlee.

Eight treasures chicken wings. Stuffed with minced chestnuts, pork, prawns, mushrooms and other goodies, this was tender and immensely enjoyable.

Mud crab with salted egg yolk. A knockout. Meaty, succulent and flavourful.

Braised estuary garoupa in claypot. Not bad, but the natural taste of the fish was kinda lost in this preparation.

Golden-fried pork spare ribs. Blissfully sinful. Fans of ribs will adore this.

Fried rice. One of their signature dishes, this was fragrant and well-prepared, but I prefer my fried rice to be packed with more "lauk."

  2. yeah, i guess they cut open the skin, removed the meat, inserted the stuffing and stitched the skin back. they're culinary surgeons! :D

  4. without wine, the five dishes cost slightly over RM 250. the fish and the crab were the pricier items, though both were less than RM 100 each.
