A nice-looking place with warm service, but the menu has both hits and misses.
The 12-inch "Monster Burger" (trimmed a bit here, since they ran out of some patties) is their claim to fame. Looked impressive, with the patties made in-house, but the chicken was tasteless, the beef was dry and the vegetarian patty was too salty.
Pumpkin always does the trick when all else fails (and apparently does)... :P
ReplyDeleteLfb: let's see if u still say that if your car/chariot turns into a pumpkin at midnight sometime :p
ReplyDeleteouch. that's a tough comment on the "monster burger" especially since it;s their claim to fame.
ReplyDeleteShows that interesting concept doesnt necessary mean good food
@Sean: Are you calling me Cinderella? I always thought I was the prince leh... :P
ReplyDeleteOh... That ubiquitous Monster Burger again. I am sure LL is suffering from nightmares about being chased by rabid fruits and Myanmar style democracy tubers. Maybe I should try their burger. It would humble me enough to make me drop down on my knees at the sight of the excellent Foie Burger at the Daily Grind and the decadent Wagyu Foie at Mandarin.
ReplyDeleteAnd boy, I do need some penance for not offering thanksgiving prayers before meals!
Have a nice weekend, bro.
augustdiners: yeah, the concept of the burger pulled us to this place, but i doubt i'd return unless i hear they've improved the recipe...
ReplyDeletelfb: if the (glass) slipper fits, wear it :P
android: thankfully, i haven't been plagued by such woes. it would be cool for more of you guys to try the burger though ... maybe organize a group outing here and order JUST the burger! based on my experience, two people won't finish one burger anyways. hope u're having a good saturday too :D
If it's a pair of slippers, I'd rather it be flip-flops for the beach... Me needs a vacation badly... :P
ReplyDeleteSean: Greetings from Shenzhen :) love love love the Monster Burger pic...drooling here. Local food in SZ sucks. hopefully you'll get to see my review on local chinese food by next weekend. cheers!
ReplyDeleteHaha.. thks for yr earlier warning. i ws goin to organise a bloggers - makan - toge w my friends here. Needless to say - op 12inch burger is OFF!
ReplyDeletelfb: but u just came back from a vacation that u haven't even finished writing about! talk about greedy ... i haven't had a real holiday in years! :P
ReplyDeleteelrond: hmmm, i just did a google search for shenzhen's cuisine, and came up with strange food like "crystal meat" and "mugwort rice" ... hope it tastes better than it sounds! :D
tng: u could still get 2-3 people along, just to go check it out .... it'll fill your tummy but it won't satisfy your tastebuds =)
Yes, well... that was a spring vacation. Sakura and all that. I want a beach vacation next - sand, sun, surf, sea... :D
ReplyDeleteLfb: port dickson is just an hour away. I hear it's absolutely lovely this time of the year :p
ReplyDeleteI wonder how one person is going to finish that burger. I think 3 people will be more appropriate. hahah
ReplyDeleteEiling: yeah, three people will probably have the stomach capacity to finish the burger, but since it tastes pretty bad, they might not even bother to =)
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have that man in the last pic.
ReplyDeletelemongrass: who, or what, was he waiting for, i wonder. it'll be an eternal mystery...
ReplyDeleteWhen becks said she wanted to try a burger that is one feet on length, alarm bells started ringing in my head. All for good reason, it would seem :)
ReplyDeleteunka: your spider-sense tingled perfectly! meanwhile, i'm always drawn to glossy new things, no matter how silly they are :D
