Healy Mac's @ Changkat Bukit Bintang

The latest addition to Changkat Bukit Bintang might be a tough sell, since it has to compete with The Green Man and Finnegan's on this street. Nevertheless, this Irish-themed restaurant is worth checking out for its cosy setting and friendly service.

Organic pork knuckle with bacon & raisin coleslaw and sour cabbage. One of the most humongous pork knuckles ever, weighing in at a whopping 1.7 kilograms! Two of us took a loooong time to finish this. The meat was tender, the skin was crisp, but we still can't tell the difference between "organic" and "regular" pork.

Grolsch Premium (don't order lagers ever again!) & Paulaner Dunkel.

gourmand: thankfully, we might not exactly live in a pork paradise, but there's no lack of porky places either. i think the knuckle was about RM78 or less...

  7. There should be a law against putting up pictures of succulent humongous pork knuckles on blogs.

  8. lemongrass: i'd urge everyone to defy this law under the banner of the PKR movement (Pork Knuckle Resistance) :D

  13. best Irish bar in Asia. I have travelled all of Asia and i have never been in a more authentic Irish bar. I met the owners from Ireland- The Kilkenny draught and Guiness was so creamy and tasty, they told me it's the way they pour it and the barrels are directly under the tap. Also had some food and it was very nice. I love the wooden decor of this bar and i'm going to make it my local.
