Spoon

It's the dessert of champions: premium frozen yogurt that's supposed to be low in calories and 99.5 percent fat-free. Let's hand this outlet extra points as well for coming up with catchphrases like "We don't mind if you spoon here."

Yogurt sundaes are the highlight. This "Run Honey Bear" version is topped with Andes mint chocolate, Oreos, strawberries, honey & almonds. There'll always be three varieties of yogurt to choose from: original (which is sweet and tangy), green tea & a seasonal one (raspberry is the flavor of the week) _ all of them deliciously milky and creamy.

"Little Rascal" sundae, topped with Oreos, granola & gummy bears.

  1. Methinks Devil would be happy with any version with tons of his favourite ALMONDS. :D

  2. Lfb: I love nuts of nearly all varieties! And before you misinterpret that innocent statement, I mean almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, walnuts, cashews and pistachios! (but not a major fan of macadamias and peanuts in case u think I overlooked them) :D

  3. I know where to get my brekkie this coming week. :)

  4. Qwazymonkey: opens at 10am sharp, so hopefully that's not too late for brekkie for ya. It closes at midnite on fri & sat, so it'd also make a healthy supper! :D

  5. Walked past yest but I jz had to try Hokkaido 1st!

Hmm.. yogurt is the in-thing now hor?
I'm gonna come up with the catchphrase like "We don't mind if you stone here."

    "Stoning" = daydreaming ;p

  7. I've always thought yogurt as a cop-out... I mean if we're going to go for all those toppings, may as well have full-fat ice cream no? My idea of an ice treat is a triple quadruple chocolate fudge sundae with liberal sprinklings of gummy bears!! It's going to be a good year for the sweet tooth, I feel.

  8. tng: yogurt seems healthier than doughnuts and cupcakes, so maybe it'd be a positive trend! and y'know, i wouldn't mind being stoned most of the time :D
lfb: fortunately, neither of us is as nutty as scrat, that saber-toothed squirrel in the 'ice age' animated movies that keeps going berserk trying to protect its acorn! =)
min: you have a valid point! i guess the solution might be to order an unadorned yogurt, without any of those yummy toppings. but you're right, if i really want a treat, it'd be the richest, creamiest tub of ben-&-jerry's that i can find! :D

  9. Do acorns even taste good?

Btw, thanks for finally giving me a win! Uhm, what do I win exactly? :P

  10. lfb: hmmm i do believe i've never tasted one! but if squirrels, bears and deer love 'em, they can't be that bad! such a shame that we can't go on an acorn-gathering expedition anytime soon :D

  11. Well, we'd have to find some oaks first, I guess...

I finally figured what sorta nut I dun like - GROUNDNUTS! Loathe them tasteless stuff. I'm such a failed Malaysian, I know. :P

  14. lfb: oh, i used to like those pagoda-brand menglembu groundnuts. but yeah, almonds are tastier (and probably also healthier) :D
michelle: heheh, well, eating frozen yogurt seems like a guilt-free treat, so it's a welcome hit for once :D
augustdiners: yep, if only it could be 100 percent fat-free, rite heheh :D

    ReplyDelete
  15. uh huh u heard me, if its good i'll sacrifice 0.5% of fat intake anytime. *hehe*

    ReplyDelete
  16. Augustdiners: ya, especially if that 0.5 percent only equals 2 grams anyway :D

  17. if i want to have dessert, I don't mind the fats. what's the fuss about fat-free when desserts are meant to be sweet and unhealthy!

    ReplyDelete
  18. eiling: heheh, i guess it's partly psychological. and we'll feel mentally OK about gobbling up a larger portion of yogurt compared to ice cream :D

  19. does this actually taste like frozen yogurt? Tried Tutti Frutti when I was in KL and it was horrible. Learn from Red Mango and Pinkberry!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Alia: yeah, I agree, tutti frutti is a bit more mass-market. but there are a few budding businesses like spoon which are trying to deliver a better frozen yogurt. No mind-blowing ones in KL yet though :D

  21. NICE.. gotta try it when I'm in KL next! btw J.co's froyo so far has been closest to NYC's red mango and pinkberry.

  22. alia: hmmm, i didn't realize there's anything at j.co besides doughnuts! thanks, will check it out soon! :D
