Island Bistro

Efficient service, an excellent setting and enough booze available at this outlet to slay six elephants. All that's missing here is truly satisfying food.

To be fair, the Singapore laksa with crayfish came in a generous portion, potentially sufficient for two people. But the bland, thin broth was a letdown.

Kuey teow with crayfish. Also hearty, with lots of fairly fresh crayfish & veggies, but lacked that 'wok hei' wallop to make it memorable.

Artisan's Blend Colombard Chardonnay & Shiraz Cabernet (Australia).

Caramel macchiato & Dy-Na-Mite cocktail (strawberry, crushed lime, pineapple juice, vodka, mint grenadine & salt).

Island Bistro,
Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur.

  3. Where the food fails, there's always the booze! :D

  5. lfb: the moral is, must always go to a place where there's booze, in case the food does fail! :D
michelle: oh yeah, they have lotttttts of bottles of liquor lined up across the wall of their bar =)

  6. But what about those of us who aren't half as boozy as you are? Then it's epic fail on both counts! :(

  7. Lfb: u have a point. This story needs a new moral then, but I can't figure out what! :D
