Little Green Planet, the Malaysian organic food firm, has opened its first cafe, called Earth Food _ a serene space nestled in Ampang's diplomatic enclave.
The recipes offered here are rooted in a bumper crop of organic foodstuff, antibiotic-free meat & other produce obtained from ecologically responsible sources.
We loved this huge helping of roasted beetroot, walnuts, shredded cheddar & mixed greens in balsamic vinaigrette. A crisp salad, filled with fresh, flavorsome ingredients.
Buttermilk pancakes with fruits & maple syrup. Could have been fluffier.
Pan-seared salmon with pineapple & asparagus. Moist and mouthwateringly tender.
Pistachio-crusted grain-fed beef sirloin with pepper sauce, mashed potatoes & French beans. Came out too cooked for our liking, but that's because we forgot to specify for it to be prepared medium-rare.
Rosti with egg. Let's call this an unguilty pleasure _ probably the healthiest, least greasy potato pancake to be found in the Klang Valley.
Potato wedges. Piping-hot perfection. Who says all carbs are evil?

Hmmmm... Oooh, healthier food but it still looks yummy!
ReplyDelete(Is this a new year's resolution ah? To eat more healthy food?)
wwowww healthy and look nice too...
ReplyDeletewhy they got full-height glass? they should make it open air instead...
j: heheh, naaah, healthy eating is not on the agenda (yet). we tried our best to AVOID the healthiest items on the menu here (berries cereal, minestrone soup, braised chicken stew with brown rice) :D
ReplyDeleteeric: hmmmm, maybe there might be a problem with mosquitoes at night if they leave it open-air. it feels more comfortable like this during the daytime too, with the air-conditioning turned on :D
healthy food alright... but why-lah it's in Ampang???
ReplyDeleteleo: the very distant side of jalan ampang, where we have to battle traffic from the city all the way to the great eastern mall area! :D
ReplyDelete*shudders* at the looks of all these healthy food.
ReplyDeleteaugustdiners: not TOO healthy, thankfully! still got beef, egg AND potatoes, heheh :D
ReplyDeletesince i am on a healthy journey, I better start dining at this restaurant.. lol
ReplyDeleteeiling: healthy and hearty seem to be the keywords here! and mostly tasty too, based on what we managed to try so far :D
ReplyDeleteLovely find! I like their The Little Green Planet's branding. It's really cute. Kinda reminds me of Mr Men and Little Miss.
ReplyDeleteQwazymonkey: actually, I had never heard of Little Green Planet before this (but I was just told last week that they've had shops for some time at hartamas and centrepoint bandar Utama)!
ReplyDeleteThis should be my kind of place right?
ReplyDeleteMichelle: heh, not sure, really! but it's certainly a refreshing change from 99 percent of the other cafes and restaurants in KL :D
ReplyDeleteNice.
ReplyDeletethe pancakes can be done better of course, LOL. must the missing buttermilk and all the yummy fats hence the flat look!
tng: ya, the pancakes fell flat! a guess the buttery sinfulness is really necessary :D
