Wonton & Pho @ Happy Garden

Southeast Asian culinary cultures come together: This new neighborhood eatery's namesake specialities of Malaysian kopitiam noodles with wontons & char siew (RM7.90 for the smallest serving) & Vietnamese streetside-style pho (RM12.90; with beef slices & meat balls in a light bone stock broth) prove competently prepared & cheerfully priced enough to make the rest of the menu (from rice paper spring rolls to steamed kampung chicken & curried fish balls) potentially worth exploring. Complete the meal with Vietnam's smooth, mildly sweet homemade 'sua cha' yoghurt (RM3.50) & traditional coffee (RM7.90).

Wonton & Pho
12, Jalan Lazat 2, Taman Gembira, Kuala Lumpur. Mon, Wed-Sat, 10am-10pm; Tues, 10am-5pm. Tel: 012-696-6942

  1. Is pho the soupy dish of 2017? There seems to be more and more of it in a lot of restaurants! Even Ashley at Telawi has a pho version and I see more Viet outlets popping up! :D

    1. Rebecca: i like pho! though i wish that restaurants in kl would provide more basil leaves, mint or cilantro to accompany their pho servings - the vegetable garnishes really elevate a bowl of pho for me! :)
