CNY Lap Mei Fan Bundle: Your Place Or Mine x Monday Night Rescue Dinners

When gifted cooks get together, delicious things seem inevitable: For this Chinese New Year season, private kitchen Your Place Or Mine & meal delivery crackerjacks Monday Night Rescue Dinners are collaborating to dispatch feasts for the family to your doorstep - the highlight is homemade lap mei fan, constructed with Cambodian hill rice, duck liver sausages available once a year from Hong Kong, lap yuk, lap cheong & waxed duck aromatically tinged with rose wine - it's a thoughtful traditional rendition, with firm grains & flavourful meat complementing each other harmoniously for maximum festive soul-food comfort.

The lap mei fan can be ordered on its own or better still, in a bundle with four-hour slow-roasted, five-spice pork belly, marinated with a secret rub & air-dried overnight, resulting in that crunchy crackling that everyone should enjoy, & a lovely lemon drizzle loaf cake, dense, moist & mellow, made with French butter. Thanks to Your Place Or Mine & Monday Night Rescue Dinners for these; for prices, actual portions & ordering instructions, see Monday Night Rescue Dinners' FB page at facebook.com/mnrdm or email them at mondaynightrescuedinners@gmail.com

  4. Thanks Sean for write up! Yeah, I am pleased with this current version of the lap mei fan.Have tried using the more expensive XO liver sausages but somehow the flavour was not quite right. Have tried also waxed duck bought from HK directly. Now that was amazing. Much less salty and the meat even more tender. Must count ourselves lucky though as our island neighbour down south has very limited access to good lap/yun cheong. Some import restrictions I was told

    1. Sam: you definitely have the right to be pleased! i liked how the lap mei fan tasted pretty different from a lot of restaurant versions ... more subtle, less immediately 'punchy' in flavour, but it draws you in while you're eating it :)
