Aren't there enough watering holes already around Changkat Bukit Bintang? Absolutely, but it's still nice to see a new outlet here with sparkling potential.
Bakita takes over the location of the late, lamented La Terrasse on Jalan Berangan, becoming the latest neighbor of Bar Italia and Albion.
It's a breezy, casual space, with welcoming service that put us instantly at ease.
Does the name 'Bakita' mean anything, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteI like the industrial look. Yay, another place to hang out at. Haven't been to CBB in ages.
ReplyDeletelfb: hmmm, i should have asked the manager. maybe it means "bar kita" ... heheh
ReplyDeletelemongrass: ya, it's a different look compared to changkat's other outlets. i'm hoping more restaurants will open at jln berangan soon, to ease the crowdedness at changkat's main street :D
Gee, so fast? 2 weeks back i saw it was still under reno hahaha i guess time is money
ReplyDeletebabe_kl: oh yeah, i guess places like this are trying to capitalize on the current world cup viewing craze :D
ReplyDelete"Our Bar"? That's rather nice, actually, even if you're joking. Kinda like Cheers, where everyone knows your name? :)
ReplyDeleteLfb: well, just like cheers, I'm sure everybody here will always be glad you came too ... Errm, depending on your definition of came, of course :P
ReplyDeleteErr..jz last week i saw it's with bricks, dust and workmen..now it's open!
ReplyDeleteWell..make sense to cash in on the World Cup. And I would worried too if the kitchen is serving food!
Tng: ya, but u know what, earlier this year, they were supposed to open shortly after Chinese new year! But I guess logistical problems delayed it. I wish they didn't specialize in beer though, since I'm not a fan of that :D
ReplyDeleteLooks like it has ample outdoor space, compared to the relatively scarce ones on other CBB outlets. Nice for days when I'm err...escaping the deathtrap of the stamina sticks...
ReplyDeleteMin: oh yeah, alfresco drinking is the way to go on cool evenings! Though we're swapping cigarette smoke for exhaust fumes from all the cars clogging the street, really :D
ReplyDeletethe place looked very clean :) comfortable...
ReplyDeleteleo: yep, but too bad there's no air-conditioning downstairs (only large fans), so the best time to visit is on cool nights :D
ReplyDeleteoh so the place which was renovating beside bar italia is this! So fast la you. Bakita sounds like Bar Kita. hehe our bar eh?
ReplyDeleteeiling: ya, been waiting patiently for it to open for the past few weeks! haha, we should really ask them what 'bakita' means, since it's definitely not a word in the english dictionary :D
ReplyDeleteBarkita is actually a french Bah Kut Teh. haha!
ReplyDeletefadlin: heheh, cute interpretation :D
ReplyDeleteHi Sean,
ReplyDeleteIs it true that Bakita has this promotion whereby every 20 minutes there will be cheap drinks? Because that's what I heard...
