Churros N Co. @ VSQ PJCC

Churros N Co puts a playfully unique spin on the popular deep-fried pastry - specialities include churros in savoury flavours that imaginatively span both East & West - Oriental-style chilli crab churros & salted egg yolk churros with curry leaves for the former, Coney Dog churros & cheesy churros for the latter. If you're tired of typical churros, this could be worth investigating.

Sweet churros are also enticing, with choices like Nutty Gula Melaka, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Milk & White Chocolate, Classic Cinnamon, & Salted Caramel. Each serving generally comprises four pieces of churros, costing between RM6.90 & RM7.90; these churros are handmade, first deep-fried, then finished by air-frying, resulting in a relatively dense crunch.

Even the beverages are pretty fun - our favourite is the sesame latte (RM11.90 for hot, RM12.90 for cold), with enjoyable nuances of goma, though the Jaffa Cake hot chocolate with subtle hints of orange (RM10.90), Eton Mess milkshake with clear notes of strawberry (RM13.90) & Red Velvet Cafe Latte with a floral fragrance (RM10.90) will each also have their fans.

    1. Hi Rebecca,it actually looks glossy due to the sauce. We airfry our Churros, so actually it is one of the lesser oil Churros. :)

    2. Rebecca: ooo, like matthew said above, it's the sauce (which isn't greasy either, but you're right, based on the photos, it does look so!). if anything, i actually wouldn't mind if it were greasier! :)

  2. If I had a marker with me, I would write underneath: Go work elsewhere.
I have this thing against places where they actually ask you for a tip. If the food is good and service is great - very nice and friendly, I would give. I always give to the petrol attendants at my regular station even. What's a ringgit or two - they have to work all day standing in the heat and they don't get paid a lot, I'm sure. They must work for it, not just simply ask.

    1. Suituapui: heheh, actually i think this was just meant to be a cute message to make customers smile (am sure the owners approved of it as well, or maybe the owners themselves suggested it). and that reminds me ... i forgot to tip! :)

  4. The coffee in the paper cup reminds me of the hot chocolate that I had from one of the cafes in SS15 (something Isaiah). It had the same texture and stencil to it. =) In the two years that I've been here in Adelaide, I haven't tried the churros even though it's super close to my campus.

I don't mind tipping, but I can be a pretty fussy diner. I still can handle the dish being delivered to my table late, but definitely not forgotten. I almost growled at the poor waitress and manager for forgetting my order. When she said she could place the order through with apologies, I was like, forget it, I can't wait any longer.

    1. Ciana: oh, I remember Isaiah - was there once in 2013, but haven't returned :) ooo, hope you manage to try those churros soon! :D forgotten orders are certainly the worst, especially if you're hungry and you're rushing somewhere else without time to have a proper meal!

    2. The last I was in SS15, Isaiah was still around - but that was like shortly before my graduation from Taylor's. We'll see how it goes. I'll definitely give churros a try, just gotta find the time to head over. =)

  6. The churros there weren't really as good as how the pictures depicts them. They smell good at first, but was too hard to bite. Oh well.
