Bedouin Arabian Cuisine @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail

Fans of Arabian fare need not wander aimlessly: Bedouin's spirit of hospitality burns bright in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. This newly launched restaurant offers hearty meals of rice & bread platters - chicken madghut (RM17 with a quarter of a chicken) & malawah bread (RM13 for an extra-large serving) - plus fried specialities - order the well-prepared lamb liver (RM18) over the scrambled eggs (RM12) - & steaming-hot stews - the oqda lamb (RM27) might be more enjoyable with superior-calibre meat, but the ful mudammas (RM12) will likely hit the spot, with comforting spoonfuls of spiced fava beans.

  1. I see one handsome and tall Arab-looking guy. Can't get any more authentic than that, I guess? Hehehehehe!!! Never tried any mid-eastern cuisines, hope to do so someday.

    1. Suituapui: there's definitely an air of authenticity here - or at least, as authentic as one can get in taman tun! :) i think you'll enjoy middle eastern fare - some pretty tasty spiced meat and carbs :)

  2. Oh yes! I love cuisine from this region. My only problem is though that I enjoy the starters so much I usually don't make it onto the mains.

    1. The Yum List: that's a dilemma I can relate to - and the main courses are always incredibly hearty too, so it's quite a challenge! ;)
