The Astor Bar, Como, Ah Fatt Tyre Shop, Piano Bar, Bora Bora, Nouveau 7

Custom-made panels glide open to reveal the entrance to The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur's flagship bar, an imposing scene made luxurious with marble, brass & leather, showcasing the sultry sophistication of signature cocktails like The Rat Pack Rusty Nail (RM65; a theatrics-filled tribute to Sinatra & Co - Maker's Mark Bourbon, Drambuie, triple sec & bitters, imbued with the depth of smoked hickory), materialising with a vaporous introduction at the table.

The Astor Bar
Level 2, The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Stesen Sentral 2, KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur. Daily, 5pm-1am. Tel: 03-2727-1111

For these other watering holes: Not a review, only a casual chronicle of some of our stops over an extended period of time for cocktails & wine: TREC KL's Como for a Pisco Sour ...

... Mesui's uniquely atmospheric Ah Fatt Tyre Shop for Sangrias & Martinis (however, this venue has since closed down) ...

... Piano Bar at Solaris Mont Kiara ...

... Bora Bora at Oasis Ara Damansara ...

& Nouveau 7 at PJ's 10 Boulevard.

  1. Ah Fatt Tyre Shop has closed down? What a pity! Very interesting concept. I love those old school circular bamboo chairs, had those once. That St Regis must be a very high class hotel, judging from the bar. I would stick out like a sore thumb. :(
