Bustling even on weekday evenings, Leong Ah whips up a wide range of Chinese food to persistently please Puchong's residents.
Paper-wrapped chicken. Slightly less flavorful than Soo Kee's version at Imbi, but still satisfyingly juicy enough to recommend.
Rice wine prawns. Was the chef overzealous? This contained a stunning magnitude of alcohol. We could have easily (& happily) gotten tipsy on this!
A comfortingly soft, steamed blend of regular eggs, century eggs & salted eggs.
Pork belly with yam. Always a surefire winner.
Venison with veggies. Not incredibly memorable, but well-prepared nevertheless.
Bean curd with loofa. Who says Eat Drink KL can't eat healthy?
Leong Ah,
Jalan Kenari 23, Bandar Puchong Jaya.
For better paper-wrapped chicken try d brother's shop (called Leong Ya) near the Mines..it's d shop facing the main road :)
ReplyDeleteThey also serve kick-ass vinegar pork trotters...so good tat u can drink the gravy on its own...hahaha :D
Ulric: ah, if only they had more siblings, there could have been a whole bunch of Leong restaurants all across town =)
ReplyDeleteyou should try leong ya instead. i've been eating at leong ya since i was two, according to my dad. he always jokes about how my sister and i would wait for everyone to open the paper wraps and swap with my parents, who prefer the leaner bits.
ReplyDeletehaha.
i still pine for that place although my mom is not a huge fan of chicken now.
Michelle: heheh, sounds perfect for families! Okies, will keep in mind, thanks! Hopefully you'll have a chance to return there later this year =)
ReplyDelete"Who says Eat Drink KL can't eat healthy?"
ReplyDeleteSomehow we suspect that EDKL had a bit more of the rice wine prawns than the beancurd with loofah. Hehe.
Kenny: it was a dirty job, but someone had to do it! *hic* :p
ReplyDeleteWah nice comfort food! Did you eat/drink all the rice wine? :P
ReplyDeleteBaby sumo: heheh, i would have been happy to finish all the rice wine soup on my own, but unfortunately, I was forced to share! :D
ReplyDeletethe steam egg with century egg and salted eggs looks good. my happy food anytime!
ReplyDeleteMissyblurkit: especially for a cold, rainy night, I think! Heheh :D
ReplyDeleteThis is a rare kinda meal for you - Chinese and in Puchong?! Pork belly yam is nice - very comforting!
ReplyDeletepureglutton: heheh, yeah, i really should eat chinese food more often! but i think i need bigger groups to do justice to all those dishes for sharing :D
ReplyDeleteif there's a road block, tell the police it's the drunken prawn and you guys didn't consume any alcohol. hehe
ReplyDeleteEiling: heheh, it might be truth, but the cops won't trust us! :D
