CRP45 Cafe @ Sri Petaling

CRP45's cloud eggs are dreamy, with ravishingly runny yolks swaddled in foamy-fluffy, meringue-like whites (RM18; served with sweet potato fries and mushrooms) - it certainly makes us wish that cloud eggs had made a bigger splash in KL.

Much of the menu here is a war between virtue and vice - for wholesome grazing, have the house salad of tomatoes and cucumbers, sweetly showered with crushed umeboshi, raisins and sesame seeds (RM13); for a sinful snack, savour the warm, creamy mashed potatoes mixed with salted egg yolk (RM8). Don't skip a slice of the dark chocolate ganache cake, spiked with rum, chocolate chips and coffee mousse (RM18) - it's an indulgent treat.

Beverages also showcase a tempting variety of possibilities, ranging from hand-brewed coffee made with, say, Brazilian beans (RM15 for V60 preparation; RM18 for syphon) to deep, dark German beers.

  2. I am surprised they know how to use umeboshi which would make the food tastier. The chef is really experienced.
