Kagetsudo @ Asakusa, Tokyo

Tokyo's top purveyor of melonpan has been dishing out these crisp, cantaloupe-shaped sweet buns for more than seven decades - have one stuffed with ice cream & adzuki beans, as well as a strawberry milk kakigori with rice balls, for a dessert break after visiting nearby Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple.

  1. Lovely shots, especially the first one. I enjoy sitting by the side of the road watching the world go by too...but overseas, not here, so hot!

    1. Suituapui: thanks! I think we'd all be outdoors a bit more often if the weather were several degrees cooler :)

  2. The bun looks like Hong Kong style Polo Bun, are they same?
The double-decker look alike seats are so cute :P

    1. Choi Yen: ooo, they're similar in some ways, though the japanese melonpan is crispier on the outside :)
