Singapore's Hill Street Coffee Shop has rolled into KL, offering a colourful slice of colonial-era kopitiam nostalgia in a space that's bursting with murals & ornaments primarily inspired by the historical Central Fire Station on the city-state's Hill Street.
Bak chor mee is the top temptation here - mee kia served dry with minced & sliced pork, liver, lard, balls & prawns (RM16.90) - alongside other specialities such as nasi lemak with lemongrass-fried chicken, grilled beef satay, cuttlefish sambal & house-made achar (RM25.90) & Hainanese chicken rice (RM17.90). Customer satisfaction will vary, with the flavours & textures here edging closer to mainstream mall fare than street-side hawker classics.
