N Lee Banh Mi @ Melbourne

Hailed by some as purveyors of Melbourne's best banh mi, N Lee makes for a conveniently located spot, nestled amid the central business district's office blocks, pretty near a tram stop. Head here before noon - that's when the crowds pour in.

These Vietnamese sandwiches are very good indeed, with crunchy-fresh, house-baked baguettes filled with thick layers of porky cold cuts & liver pate, plus carrots, onions, pickled radish, mayo, hoisin sauce, chili & coriander. The perfect lunch.

  1. I've a weakness for sandwiches, yet to try these Vietnamese ones - they look real good! Read somewhere that this is handed down from their French heritage.
