Jimmy Grants & Po' Boy Quarter @ Melbourne

Souvlaki & po' boys - two things we'd love to see more of in KL. Melbourne's Jimmy Grants does justice to the former, offering Athenian-inspired creations like Mr Papadopoulos ($8), slow-cooked lamb shoulder with mustard aioli, chips, onions & parsley, wrapped snugly in warm wholemeal pita for the quintessentially satisfying sort of takeaway lunch or after-drinks supper ...

... while Po' Boy Quarter serves huge, New Orleans-loving sub sandwiches to feed the starving, with everything from breaded catfish to shrimp, deep-fried oysters to pulled pork to fried green tomatoes, stuffed in a meal to definitively sink your teeth into.

  1. Can't say they turn me on...but I guess the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Sometimes, great presentation may not equate great taste, that's for sure.

    1. Suituapui: heh, and vice versa too, yeah ... but ya, i love souvlaki and po' boys :D

    1. Linda: the second set of photos are actually po' boys, which are southern american submarine sandwiches - quite tasty too! :)

  3. Breaded Cat Fish sounds like a good filling for a burger!

    1. Ken: it would be, i agree! :D
