Helen's Kitchen @ Aman Suria & Bibi's Nyonya Delights @ Hartamas

Helen's Kitchen lures families with a small selection of home-style recipes that claim inspiration from Penang, including nasi ulam with with sambal, salted fish, crackers & assam prawns (RM8.50), five-spice chicken with egg (RM10) & fried kerabu (RM3.50), all served with a zero-fuss simplicity. You'll also find kiam chai th'ng (RM6), jiu hu char (RM6), chicken curry with potatoes (RM6) & assam pedas fish (RM6) at Helen's, which opened in July in Aman Suria.

Over at Sri Hartamas' Plaza Damas 3, Bibi's Nyonya Delights is also a lunchtime lure, serving specialities like soy sauce chicken with rice (RM8.90) on some days & possibly pong teh chicken, asam chicken & masak merah chicken on others (the common theme throughout the week is chicken). The counter offers an abundance of Nyonya kuih, mostly RM2.60 per packet.
