Papasan Canteen @ Kuchai Lama

Fun Japanese fusion fare forms the foundation of Papasan's pleasures, with a potentially crowd-rousing Dogstar (RM18; a hot dog with a beef sausage, bonito flakes & garlic mayo) & signature sushi roll with thinly sliced foie gras, salmon aburi, crab sticks, cucumber & tobiko (RM24). A smattering of classics remains available at this cheerful neighbourhood hangout, including a chirashi bowl with a little lime for extra zip (RM24). Cappuccino & a tangerine plum soda headline the beverage list.

  1. Prices sure are not anything like what one would find at a canteen.

  2. From the name, I certainly wouldn't have guessed that it's Japanese fusion. By the way, does foie gras in a Japanese place taste good? I'm asking as I had a not-so-pleasant experience once (though I love foie gras eaten elsewhere) ^_*

    1. Contact.ewew: some Japanese places do foie fairly well - I'd say the ones who know how to handle their seafood would also pay due respect to foie. But yeah, at some other places, it's not a good use of foie ;)

  5. This place is always so happening and parking could be quite a nightmare sometimes. I like the unique name PAPASAN and its cozy interior decor.
