Uppercase Rooftop Bistro @ Metro Hotel

A secret sanctuary in the sky: The rooftop bistro of Metro Hotel KL delivers a discreet hideout that dishes out decent grub. For our visit some time back, we enjoyed the turmeric-fried rice with curry leaves & crushed salted egg yolk (RM9) & spaghetti carbonara with chicken ham, cheese & a poached egg (RM18.50), though the menu has likely evolved since then. Specials like creamy laksa with cockles might be available occasionally. Savour the serenity with a view of KL Tower in the distance.

    1. The Yum List: definitely ideal on a cloudless day - though parts of it seem well-shaded enough to withstand a bit of a thunderstorm ;)

  3. Why uppercase = capital letters? Curry mee looks nice.

    1. Suituapui: hmmm, i just figure the 'upper' is meant to evoke the sense of a location that's high up ;) yeah, it's a bit of a cross between curry mee & laksa ;)

  4. We also have the same kind of roof themed resto here in the Philippines, but the foodie that you took there makes me wanna visit the place!

    1. Steve: rooftop outlets can be pretty fun - a good way to rise above the urban jungle and gain a better sense of perspective ;)

    1. CK: heheh, ya, the bird was flying quite slowly :D 10 degrees lower would be perfect - i have my air-conditioner on at home right now, cos it's quite a hot morning already, even though it's only 10 a.m. right now :D
