Svago @ KLCC

Thanks to a first-floor view & a first-rate Italian menu that both seem built to impress, Svago has the potential to become Suria KLCC's premier fine-dining venue.

Svago is spacious but still intimate, with a romantic elegance that stands in stark contrast to its more casual, street-level sister outlet Limoncello below.

Beside the restaurant, there's a bar where live music can be enjoyed on some nights.

Embarking on a seafood dinner, lifted from Svago's festive set menu: Lobster carpaccio, delicately prepared with julienne of marinated zucchini, carrots & lemon zest, showered with sweet citrus dressing.

Aussie yabbies & scallop, fresh & fleshy, complemented by broccoli cream sauce.

Black cod "mugnala," lightly & impeccably pan-seared with lemon, capers & parsley. We look forward to what Svago's a la carte selection will eventually showcase, but we hope prices prove less scary; these three dishes on the celebratory set breached the RM260 mark.

Well-executed cocktails; prices span RM22 for Whiskey Sours to RM28 for White Russians.

Brandy Eggnog, a nice way to cap the celebrations that have marked these recent weeks.

Grappa Di Brunello & Limoncello, to sip on the alfresco balcony overlooking KLCC's park.

Latte & affogato, not the best in town, but they'll do to keep us caffeinated.

As with Limoncello, Svago is run by the group behind Pavilion's Weissbrau & Spasso Milano.

Bar snacks are available too, from 'panzerotto' mini folded pizzas to 'polpette' meatballs.

    1. Ulric: ya, i think the price was hiked up for the christmas & new year season. even now, they still seem to be serving set meals and not a la carte though, but hopefully there'll be not-too-steep pricing for their permanent menu. the seafood here seems really carefully prepared, not overcooked at all and tasting satisfyingly fresh, etc :D

    1. Simple Person: yeah, i think they're trying to make it a dual-concept, two-level restaurant here. on the ground level, there's their mid-priced restaurant, limoncello, and for their first-floor level, it's the more upmarket restaurant, svago. but let's see whether their a la carte menu will surprise us with lower prices (crossing my fingers) :D

  3. Nice place, nice view, nice food...fine dining, should be expensive...to keep away those not-very-desirable crowd. Good to maintain a bit of class.

  4. Prices seems a little ouch but with lobster on your list, I think its "almost" reasonable.

Love the view and I think with live music and some lovely wines or cocktails, it may well be a perfect evening.

    1. Missyblurkit: yeah, it's a pity that their a la carte menu isn't ready yet. then we'd know more clearly how to forecast the cost of dinner here. you're right though, the lobster carpaccio does push the price up higher, i guess, heh :D and ya, hopefully they'll concentrate on light, smooth jazz performances here, instead of the usual loud lounge singing. great location for us who work nearby! =)

    1. CK: hopefully on the a la carte menu, we'd be able to get a three-course meal for RM100 or so =)

  6. Eggnog? Is it permanent on the menu i wonder?
Frankly, with Renoma Cafe and my Starwood card, I don't think I'll be heading her anytime soon :P

    1. TNG: oh ya, the brandy eggnog is on the permanent cocktail menu (it's quite hidden on the cocktail list, so you'll have to look carefully for it though). oooh, with the starwood card, a great and reasonably priced meal can be had at villa danieli :D

  7. The place looks lovely! While I'm perfectly happy with dining at Spasso, I wouldn't mind treating myself to an anniversary dinner here. ;)

    1. Bangsar-Babe: ya, it's got a gorgeousness that's missing in klcc's other eateries. i think u're right, spasso works very nicely for most occasions when we have italian cravings, while svago can be a special-occasion place =)

  9. When I see the name of this place, I am wondering how many people are actually trying to figure out how to pronounce the name of this place.

  10. Like LV, they will have their customers. Not necessary for the rich, for the people who believes to dine with quality and style. Many rich actually pick Kopitiam instead. That's how they become one :) People like Sean will visit :)

    1. River: heheh, that's true. i've become poorer because of some of the restaurants i've visited. but ya, you're right, sometimes the things that bring us satisfaction will cost a lot. hope you've been well, huck, and hope to see you sometime this year :D
