Returning to Renoma Cafe Gallery, this time for its all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch.
A value-for-money treat, 11am-3pm, Sundays & public holidays: RM85++ per person pays for a staggering selection cooked to order, including brighter-than-sunshine poached egg with sauteed fettuccine, duck prosciutto, eringi mushrooms & grana padano cheese.
More egg yolk, salted & smeared on meaty battered soft-shell crab with curry leaves, underscore the rising Asian influence in Renoma's classical French repertoire.
Maine lobster can be enjoyed in Eastern fashion, via this deluxe Thai-inspired "tom kha goong" coconut broth with shimeji mushrooms ...
... or sandwiched Western-style, with a savory underbelly of beef bacon, pommery mustard mayo & heritage tomatoes.
Renoma's take on Italy's Caprese salad makes the mozzarella crunchy, adding avocado oil & pine nuts for subtle grace notes.
This eatery lets its chefs' creativity run beautifully unbridled, evidenced by the baked black bass in Portuguese spicy sauce with saffron risotto & okra.
A trio of tiger prawn recipes, starting with this simple salad with mud crab meat ...
... followed by another, wok-fried with crushed, candied pecan nuts & lemon oil ...
... then finally, 'sang har meen'-style, with crispy egg noodles in an egg white gravy laced with Chinese shao xin wine & ginger.
Char-grilled lamb chops with chimichurri sauce. Portions are suitably small, so even light eaters can likely indulge in six to eight plates for their money's worth.
Order as much foie gras as you want, as often as you want, in a consomme of smoked duck, wood ear mushrooms & water chestnuts ...
... or with capellini & forest mushrooms ...
... or centered with Muscovy duck rilettes in Renoma's signature burger. All the liver's chunky, making this meal miraculous in price.
As the live jazz performers heat up the stage, let's wind down with tummy-fillers like miso-glazed Atlantic cod & wheatgerm tagliolini ...
... Jamie Oliver's recommended party dish, the hunter's chicken stew, with potato mousseline ...
... Moroccan-influenced braised lamb shank with lemon, apricot, almonds & pepper pappardelle ..
... porcini mushroom risotto with the merest whiff of white truffle oil ...
... black mussels with XO sauce, saffron tagliatelle & green chili coulis ...
... wok-fried Black Angus beef tenderloin with morel mushrooms & tea-infused rice ...
... & Hokkaido Bay scallop with black & white sesame seeds, green tea soba & hijiki seaweed. Amazingly, everything above makes up less than half the menu.
Scarce space for dessert, so two will suffice: Elegantly presented tiramisu ...
... & not-bad chocolate brownie with coffee ice cream. Sweets lovers can also indulge in pavlova, panna cotta, creme brulee, raspberry mousse, apple pie & peach melba.
Throw in another RM75++ for a free flow of Chardonnay ...
... Cabernet Sauvignon ...
... & iSpritz sparkling wine cocktail mix.
Coffee comes complimentary, helping customers stagger out when everything ends.

That's a lot of food! Looks tempting and reasonably priced.
ReplyDeleteFootfringe: yeah, and this is still less than half of what's available on the brunch menu. i think it'd take eight hours of continuous eating to order everything that's offered. definitely reasonably priced, considering there's so much foie gras to be had =)
DeleteHow many of you?
DeleteSimple Person: two people =)
DeleteAh...back at the underwear place again. Love live music
ReplyDeleteSuituapui: heh, four visits here so far since september. i like live music as long as it's not too loud (there was one evening here last month when it was very loud) =)
DeleteMe too, I like live music as well
DeleteDefinitely will check this place out...
We were monstas tat day!....hahaha *chomp chomp chomp* :P
ReplyDeleteUlric: lobster & foie gras monstas =)
DeleteLol you and Kc are the champions. So what are the dishes that I shouldn't bother? :P
ReplyDeleteKelly: heheh, i think all the dishes for this brunch are worth trying at least once. and the foie gras ones are worth repeating =)
DeleteThe Boston lobster BLT sandwich was awesome!!! =)
DeleteUlric: more lobster than bread in that sandwich :D
DeleteI've tried 2 fg dishes so far, will do the other two. Hehe.
DeleteBtw I still win on desserts. Lol!
DeleteKelly: heheh, it requires quite a sweet tooth to attack so many of the desserts here =)
DeleteLooks good... will have to go try it soon. Would have multiple orders of foie gras haha!!
ReplyDeleteBaby Sumo: yeah, it's pretty incredible that renoma allows customers to order all the foie gras they want, for only RM85++ :D
DeleteNow, entertainment in the morning while having brunch/lunch ! that's something !
ReplyDeleteWong: yeah, it was a good jazzy performance, quite relaxing =)
DeleteRM85++ seems like a good deal for the food they serve. I guess they are giving Dish (if it's still alive for its Sunday tapas) a run for their money. But gosh... you should eat more!
ReplyDeleteChong: yeah, with a brunch menu filled with foie gras, seafood & steaks, it seems like quite a steal. i think dish's weekend brunches are still on, and both have their strong selling points. here's looking forward to more restaurants offering great brunches this year =)
DeleteHow I wish that tomorrow is Sunday....
ReplyDeleteThat place always pack? Or do I need to make reservation....
Simple Person: ya, it's sad that tomorrow is only wednesday. still a few more working days left before the weekend =) so far, i think no need reservation. the place is quite big, so there are plenty of tables. but to be safe, maybe call them first before you go, since they sometimes hold private functions here :D
Deleteoooo the dishes look fabulous! i supposed i need a few pals to join so we can cover more dishes?
ReplyDeleteMissyblurkit: yeah, four people might be the ideal number! Or at least six, if you want to order EVERYTHING on the menu! :D
DeleteRead this deal on Kelly's and now yours...yum..the desire is getting stronger now....looking forward to sunday now... =D
ReplyDeleteSycookies: crossing fingers that renoma will start getting a healthy crowd for its Sunday brunches! It's worth waking up for!
DeleteI'm so tempting to try this but I'm doubt how much I can eat for the RM85++ >.<
ReplyDeleteChoi Yen: heheh, ya, but I guess it's a good alternative to hotel buffets that might cost a similar amount =)
DeleteI was gonna pen some witty underwear jokes, but the food looks so darn good!
ReplyDeleteKY: haha, I wouldn't have minded hearing those underwear jokes too! :D
DeleteI wish it is nearer to my office, so I can walk there for lunch! hehehe.
ReplyDeleteCK: can drive here and reach in less than 10 minutes, heheh :D
DeleteTell me there was ten people there and you didn't eat all that yourself! Amazing. Everything looked good! Mushroom and truffle risotto would certainly be my order...
ReplyDeleteYouHadYourLunch: heheh, divide ten by five, and you'll have the correct number of diners :D yeah, this brunch is one of those rare occasions when a hearty endorsement would be valid! =)
DeleteRM85++ for all-you-can-eat foie gras? madness! tempted to cancel all plans for sunday and head straight to renoma hehe the food looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteBob and Julie: a foie feast of epic proportions! Yeah, it'd be worth it to just indulge in the foie gras here! Though the lobster dishes should be tried too, heh. =)
DeleteI'm tempted to go again! :)
ReplyDeleteRebecca: this brunch does deserve two visits to do justice to the selection! :D
DeleteI don't know.. fusion menu's really confuse me. Like trying to do everything and end up doing nothing! LOL
ReplyDeleteCiki: sometimes it succeeds, sometimes it flops! i guess that without the risk, there'd be no adventure :D
DeleteI heard about their brunch during my dinner there 2 weeks ago. Looks like a great selection but probably some hits and misses.
ReplyDeleteEiling: yeah, one of the misses for me here was the cod fish, since it didn't taste as super-fresh as i had expected (though it was still not too bad) :D
DeleteSean! A place to eat your heart out, literally !!!
ReplyDeleteWong: yeah, four hours of eating and drinking! :D
