Returning to crocodile specialist Krocies & checking out its porky neighbors at SS2.
Earlier entry on Krocies: Nov. 8, 2012.
Crocodile bone soup, a multiple-herb tummy warmer, similar-tasting to many Chinese broths.
Fried crocodile ribs. Meatier than expected, with a juicy crunch that can be addictive.
Crocodile tail in claypot. Tastes like chicken breast, with a sweet-savory kick from the sauce; fitting, since Krocies' crocodiles are mainly fed with fowl.
Next door to Krocies: Super Kitchen Pan Mee.
With multiple branches at Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kepong, Kota Damansara, Taipan, Sri Petaling & Klang besides this SS2 outlet, Super Kitchen must be doing something right.
Chili, chili, toil & trouble. Only took a smidgen. That's enough, I honestly think.
Douse the flames with something like a Yo Yo Ice bubur cha-cha blended dessert drink.
Finally, Wallop Pork Burgers, less than a two-minute walk from both Krocies & Super Kitchen.
Customize your burger: Start with Wallop's Sergeant triple-patty-with-cheese monster (RM12.80), then top it with bacon & egg for juiciness to pleasure the palate.
Krocies, Super Kitchen & Wallop Burgers @ SS2 Petaling Jaya

I don't know if I can stand the taste of crocodile meat...
ReplyDeleteWhere do I find Wallop Burgers? Any landmarks nearby?
Waverly: oh, it tastes really similar to chicken. With a bit of a porky texture :D hmmm, I'm not good at giving directions, but it's on that row of shophouses at ss2's chow yang night market area, facing some residential houses : D
Delete1 Burger only? That's so not like you! hahaha.
ReplyDeleteCK: heheh, but that one burger here is almost as big as two burgers at some other outlets! :D
DeleteBeen to Wallop a few times. Like the taste of the patties.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should try the other places the next time I'm in the area...
Lifeasacynic: yeah, pretty satisfactory patties, made in-store, I believe. Pretty quiet on week nights compared to some of its neighbors, but I hope it gets a good lunch crowd =)
DeleteTriple Patty? That reminds me of the Double Big Mac I tried (and failed) to finish a while ago :D
ReplyDeleteCroc meat looks uhhhh ... I dunno if I would willingly choose it over any of the other more 'established' meats ha ha.
Timing: heh, as far as burgers go, three patties is generally the limit for me. I remember mcd's double Big Mac though, and while it was too gigantic to fit into my mouth, I liked it (especially since mcd's beef patties seem to get thinner and thinner) =) ooh, I do assure you though that here at krocies, the crocodile tastes totally palatable, very similar to chicken breast in some instances, without any weird flavors. And the crocodiles are raised in legitimate/legal farms =)
DeleteHubster still isn't game with the idea of crocodile meat. Hopefully he changes his mind after reading this post.
ReplyDeleteI still prefer Kinkin over Super Kitchen. The noodles are firmerat Kinkin.
Missyblurkit: ooh, maybe one alternative could be to tar pau a serving of simple stir-fried crocodile meat and bring it home to eat, combined with other non-crocodile dishes on the table, heh (though krocies also serves regular meat like chicken) :D gosh, i just realized the only time i've tried kin kin branch is at the eat food village in publika. i think i recall liking it. just that i don't take much chili with my pan mee =)
DeleteWow you went back for the crocs! We didn't get to try the tail meat the other time - heard that's a choice part of the croc! Like you said, "taste like chicken"! :-)
ReplyDeletePureglutton: hmmm, i'm not sure about choice part, though now that you mentioned it, it was one of the meatiest parts of the crocodile. guess there's a lot of flesh in the tail, heh :D
DeleteOne of these days, I really need to try this croc meal in SS2 !
ReplyDeleteWong: hope you and your family enjoy it! it might be a memorable and interesting meal (hopefully a positive experience) :D
DeleteYet to be able to coerce colleagues to a Krocies experience. Hmm. Let's hope they stay in biz at least for a while.
ReplyDeleteJ2Kfm: heh, crossing my fingers for that too. weeknight business here seems to be OK, about 6-8 occupied tables :D
DeleteCrocodile meal in SS2! Must go taste it!
ReplyDelete“追食富迪”: hope you enjoy it, ya =)
DeleteLuckily you didn't show me the soup with a whole crocodile head in it >.<
ReplyDeleteChoi Yen: heh, that one must pre-order :D
