Burger Junkyard @ Kota Damansara

Momentum for the burger revolution keeps building: Following in MyBurgerLab's high-profile footsteps, here's another potential hot spot for fans of burger brilliance.

Calorie-counters might flee in terror from Burger Junkyard's Texas Hold Me (RM14.90, no taxes): An Australian beef patty sandwiched with beef bacon, cheddar, onion rings & smoked BBQ aioli. Tastes like the most voluptuous street burger ever.

Char-grilled beef with caramelized onion chutney, balsamic raisin sauce, pan-roasted tomatoes, steamed aged cheddar & garden greens (RM15.90 for a 90-gram patty, RM19.90 for 180 grams). Get messy: no cutlery supplied, so everything's finger-lickin'-fantastic.

Comparisons between MyBurgerLab & Burger Junkyard might be inevitable, but both outlets possess their own merits. No charcoal buns at the Junkyard, but the fresh buttered brioches here remain no less addictive.

Burger Junkyard swaps minced meat for boneless chicken thighs to make its brine-cured chicken patties, like this one with celery sticks, sour cream & buffalo hot sauce (RM14.90).

Our fave: The Brooklyn Burger (RM15.90), succulent beef/chicken with smoked turkey ham, beef bacon, grilled pineapple, tomato, onions, fried egg, cheese & aioli. All burger prices include a hearty helping of fries & Burger Junkyard's own special sauce.

Vegetarian burgers are available. This Ratatouille one's something special, with its soft, savory stew of tomato concasse, onions, aubergine, zucchini, capsicum & Burger Junkyard's signature steamed aged cheddar, which features in every burger here.

Rats! This Junkyard's filled with them; fun to play with while waiting for the food.

On the bright side, the wait here shouldn't take more than 15 minutes (for now). Plus, there's a 10 percent discount off all burgers as an opening promotion this month.

  1. This looks like a playful place with an equally playful menu. Its certainly lovely to eat burger minus the cutleries. Burgers are meant to be sloppy, juicy and finger licking good!

    1. Missyblurkit: you're right, sloppy really is the way to describe the burgers here (in the best sense of the word!). and yeah, i must have used at least six serviettes to wipe my fingers clean after eating here, heh :D and ya, i do admire how they've constructed the menu here. a great start for a trio of young entrepreneurs =)

  2. Hey Sean, thanks for the review! though I think there is a slight typo error, as our patties are 90g for the single and 180g for the double! (what's stated on your blog is 90g and 150g) sorry for the trouble mate! Hope you enjoyed yourself! Cheers!

    1. Ulric: heheh, good list! oooh, but i think if possible, try at least one of the 150-gram patties too. i found it more moist and juicy compared to the 90-gram one, maybe cos it was thicker. but if you try the 90-gram one first and you already like it perfectly, then that's fine =)
