Movie Nights @ Frisky Rooftop Bar, Yap Kwan Seng

Magic in the moonlight: Every Thursday night, Frisky Rooftop Bar offers one of KL's best-kept entertainment secrets - outdoor screenings of mainly independent international movies, representing a refreshing change of scene from crowded multiplexes.

We enjoyed watching Tangerine - a comedy-drama about a day in the life of a transgender sex worker in Los Angeles - in the shadow of the Petronas Twin Towers, with about a dozen other people in the alfresco audience. The vibe is very relaxed, with most folks capitalising on the complimentary warm popcorn, an optional cocktail buffet (all the Mojitos you can drink for RM60 nett per person) & buy-one-free-one wine offers. Service is fast & friendly. Screenings start at 9:30pm; there's no cover charge.

  7. Lol think we were there on the same night, boss. "Tangerine" was a weird movie tho, quite jarring tbh haha.

    1. Aaron: heh, I kinda liked how it was mostly unpredictable, the way the plot unfolded ... Though it lost me a bit near the end when when everyone ended up in the same shop and started shouting and arguing with each other ;)
