Coffee-ish, Fenmous, Skyhills, THOC, Pinch & Juus

Coffee-ish ranks high among Sri Petaling's fresh breed of cafes that take their caffeine seriously, but it can also prove a fun destination - the Royal Vienna 'balancing siphon,' based beautifully on a European brewer model invented in the 1840s, is an intriguing way to watch your cuppa being prepared. Coffee-ish also promises pomelo cheesecakes & scones for snacking on.

Fenmous is more a health store than a cafe, selling everything from slimming products to avocado oil for skin. But it also serves coffee, including its own interpretation of bulletproof coffee, combining coffee with a spoonful of wild-harvested, cold-pressed extra virgin Malaysian coconut oil (RM7.70), reasonably rich & aromatic.

Fenmous

Mon-Fri, 930am-6pm; Sat, 11am-6pm; Sun, 12pm-6pm. Tel: 03-9055 4665

A bit off the beaten track, Skyhills is tucked on a manufacturing & motor-works street in one of Ara Damansara's more industrial-oriented areas; it's been quite awhile since our visit here, but we have warm memories of this cafe's very enjoyable carrot cake & tiramisu - hopefully those desserts remain available.

Skyhills

Business hours can be erratic; call 03-7831-3599 to check

Coffee & wine make for the most amiable companions at this sanctuary of calm with a verdant view.

THOC The House Of Connoisseur

This nail spa doubles as a bakery-cafe, enabling folks to enjoy pleasant cheesecakes, coffee & tea after a pedicure.

  1. The Royal Vienna 'balancing siphon' looks canggih!
We used virgin coconut oil for cooking at home. Mr LFB tried that with Milo before and he quite enjoy that, next time should ask him try with coffee, hahaha.

  2. A nail spa cum coffee place? Now I've seen everything. ;)

Seriously though, it's a nice concept. I'm sure people would like to do both at the same time or at least be able to have good coffee while getting their nails done.

I'm more interested in the juice bar though, it's so hot nowadays that coffee sounds slightly unappealing. To be honest, I just drink it for the caffeine hit coz I need coffee in the morning but what I *want* these few days is cold juice. I've been looking at watermelons in groceries too (got a large slice for RM 4.7x) and juice places, even commercial ones like boost sounds appealing in this witheringly hot weather we've been getting. Can't beat a cold ice-blended smoothie to beat the heat.

    1. Huai Bin: haha, yes, manicures & tea-time treats actually go hand-in-hand (no pun intended) :D maybe cold-brew coffee is the solution for both your caffeine needs and your cooling-down needs ... personally though, cold water works well enough for me, so i don't generally have juice cravings :)
