Farquhar Mansion @ George Town, Penang

Hungry for haute cuisine? Head to Farquhar Mansion, a restaurant in a stately two-storey bungalow. Upstairs, a kaleidoscope of portraits blankets the walls & the ceiling, depicting everything from pink flamingos to Marilyn Monroe. It’s a playfully eccentric setting for an exquisite extravaganza that might commence with French oysters with lobster gelĂ©e, cauliflower mousse & Ossetra caviar, before later concluding with white chocolate coconut parfait with mango basil compote, with courses in between that include onion consomme with truffle-scented onion flan & onion confit, plus foie gras with duck rillette tartlet, plum-apple chutney & port reduction, as well as lamb rack with pulled lamb ravioli, roasted beetroot, sweet pea & lamb jus.

Farquhar Mansion
33, Lebuh Farquhar, George Town, Penang. Open daily for lunch & dinner. Tel: +6019-5288-933

  2. Interesting place, love the presentation. I wonder how many these days can pronounce the name correctly. I guess that should not be a problem for the Penang-ites - I'm more familiar with the Farquhar in Malacca though.
